Dermaplaning is an exfoliating skin care treatment that uses a sterile razor to gently shave the skin's surface. This procedure aims to removes up to 21 layers of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (aka peach fuzz).
Note: The process should be conducted by a dermatologist or licensed esthetician.
Here's my experience
Similarly to many, I suffer from acne and skin care was not always a priority of mine until lately. I sought the dermaplaning (dermafacial) treatment because my skin needed a new start and I wanted all of the facial hair removed. The procedure was painless and overwhelmingly rejuvenating to my skin. The esthetician confirmed that I was not allergic to any of the products before applying them. At times, there would be a tingling sensation when certain products were applied but that was about it.
The procedure takes about 45 minutes and once completed, a soothing cream was applied to my skin to avoid any sort of irritation.
After the procedure, I was told to not use any products on my face for about 24 hours in order to allow the products applied to skin to do the job. My skin looks absolutely radiant, glowy and extremely smooth.
I would definitely recommend this treatment especially if you have dark spots and acne-pro skin like myself.
